How can I work on Friend of Minds initiatives?

We love volunteers! There are two initiatives with several projects to choose from. You can sign-up to volunteer on the Team page.

How often do you meet?

The entire Friend of Minds team meets quarterly. Individual project teams meet at least monthly but manage their calendars to accommodate everyone’s schedule.

Do you have to live on the south side to join Friend of Minds ?

Yes. Friend of Minds serves 10 south side communities. Members must be a stakeholder in one of them.  

Is Friend of Minds organized by my school?

No. Friend of Minds is a not-for-profit organized to support capacity building for south side Chicago schools.

Will I pay a membership fee to join Friend of Minds?

No. Friend of Minds programming is funded through generous donations from our supporters, grants and fundraising activities.
